THE LAKE

Allatoona Village is home to several trails throughout the community that will take you right to the shoreline of beautiful "Allatoona Lake", as it is know to the U.S. Governement. The lake is managed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, you will find that a majority of the shoreline is undisturbed and is home to many types of wildlife. As you explore the land, you can expect boardwalks and bridges, thick forests, native Indian settlements, historic cabins, wildlife, and views that are unmatched on any given hike. The lake is filled mostly by the Etowah River, with additional inflow from the Little River, Noonday Creek, and the namesake Allatoona Creek. Downstream, the Etowah joins the Coosa River.
